KITSAP BUSINESS NETWORK BYLAWS
MISSION STATEMENT:
KBN is a group of dedicated professionals who have come together since 1986 to provide mutual support in local business. We ascribe to the highest level of business ethics, professional capability, community leadership, and customer care. We are the best in our respective fields, and the oldest professional business group in the county. We are proud to recommend our fellow members.
MEETINGS:
-Meetings are held every Tuesday Morning at 7:29 AM.
-Meeting places will have the capability of serving breakfast. Meeting places will be determined by a majority vote of the KBN members.
MEETING PROCEDURES:
-The president will call the meeting to order at 7:29 AM and make the announcements.
-Each member and guest will deliver a 30 second “introduction / pitch” spotlighting themselves and their business.
-Then each member will mention the number of referrals that they had and to whom, during the week.
-Any member not giving a referral at a meeting will be assessed a $0.25 fine to be placed into the piggy bank.
-The Member may also take this time to give testimonials about other members and their high quality of services or merchandise.
-Business of the organization is conducted as outlined in the Agenda.
-Speakers, usually two per meeting, will have approximately 10 minutes to talk; or longer, as the President wishes.
-Meeting will adjourn at 8:30 AM.
OFFICERS:
-Officers will consist of a President, Vice President, and Secretary / Treasurer.
-The officers are to be elected by KBN members for a six month term.
-Each term will be held from January 1 through June 30 and from July 1 through December 31.
ADMISSION TO MEMBERSHIP:
-Membership is by invitation only.
-Any member may present the name and occupation of someone who may be interested in joining KBN
-If there are no objections, the member can then invite the interested party to attend three meetings.
-Before the first visit, the sponsor must give the prospect a membership packet and discuss with them the responsibilities of membership.
-If the prospect is still interested in joining, they will be invited to give a short presentation at one of the next three meetings.
-The week after the prospective member has spoken, they will be asked to skip one meeting so that current members can discuss, and vote on extending an invitation to join.
-If there are any conflicts, any individual member can veto any prospective member.
-Upon acceptance, new members shall pay two quarters dues in advance, which are $25 per quarter, none of which is refundable.
RULES OF MEMBERSHIP:
-Membership is by invitation only.
-Members of KBN may not belong to another similar networking group.
-Multi-level marketing businesses are not eligible for membership.
-Only one person in each category of business may be a member of KBN.
-Members wanting more than one business represented in KBN must pay dues for each business.
-Dues are $25 per quarter, payable to the secretary / treasurer of KBN during the first month of each quarter. Members who are delinquent in the payment of dues are subject to removal from KBN.
-Each member is required to make a 10 minute presentation during a meeting each quarter.
-Attendance and participation are vital to the success of the organization. Members are required to attend at least ten meetings per quarter. Absences for extenuating circumstances may be considered by the President. Members lacking in attendance may be subject for removal.
-Removal of a member requires 2/3 majority vote at a meeting at which a quorum is present.
OPERATIONS:
-A majority of current members in good standing shall constitute a quorum.
-Guests and speakers must be cleared in advance by the President.
-Special committees may be appointed by the KBN Officers.
INVENTORY:
-Consists of a folder for The Members business cards, KBN business cards, attendance notebook, and a piggy bank for the collection of fines.

-KBN Bylaws.
-KBN Standards of Excellence.
-Top Ten Plus Ways to Get the Most Out of Joining a Network Group.
-KBN Business Card.
